Optical Business Barometer (obb)

The Optical Business Barometer is designed to gauge the optical business trends of Independent Eye Care Professionals on a monthly basis. This information will give you a valuable source of data to understand how the business trends of your practice compare to that of your independent colleagues.

The OBB tracks attitudes and perceptions in overall optical, eyeglasses, contact lenses, and eye exams each month and a prediction of how the next 6 months will be in all the same areas.

Data is tabbed on several filters including gender, age, profession, job function, products dispensed, US Census region, annual revenues and business emphasis.

Comparisons to the Consumer Confidence Index and the Index of Small Business Optimism for general retail goods are provided as well.
